DNS Record Lookup: Read A, MX and TXT Results
A DNS record lookup is useful only when each returned record is compared with the job that hostname is meant to do.

Start with the record and the hostname
A DNS lookup does not return one universal answer. An A record answers where a web hostname resolves; MX answers which host accepts mail; TXT carries policies such as SPF and DMARC. Querying the wrong name is the usual reason a correct DNS zone appears broken.
Check the root domain, www hostname and mail subdomains separately. A working apex does not prove www exists, and a valid SPF TXT record does not prove the MX target resolves.
